Jamie Holifield

Program Manager

Jamie comes to NHD with over a decade of K-12 teaching experience and has spent 9 years implementing NHD in the classroom with students as a high school Social Studies teacher. She earned her M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) and is working on her doctoral degree in Urban Education (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee). Her research work explores leadership for equity in K-12 education and utilizes historical context to understand current issues surrounding educational inequities. As program manager, she assists with NHD teacher training, including summer institutes, conferences, and publications.

National History Day was recently notified that our grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities were cancelled. This means a loss of more than $336,000 over this year and next.
